Advance Baseball brings together coaches, partnership builders and organizational leaders around a shared purpose: teaching the game, equipping players and creating opportunities to compete. We are proud of the people behind this work, and grateful for the different roles they bring to it.
CEO AND FOUNDER
Lee
CEO and Founder, Advance Baseball
Lee Sullens is the heart behind Advance Baseball International. He brought the founding team together, sustained the work through COVID, and continues to cast a bold vision for baseball in Malaysia. By bringing the first professional baseball players to the country, Lee helped spark a growing baseball movement. His dream is for Malaysia to win the Little League World Series one day and produce a Major League MVP within the next 15 years. That vision gives ABI something extraordinary to work toward, with Lee’s love for Malaysia at its heart.
Meet the team.
The work on the field has a team behind it. Meet the people whose roles connect coaching, partnerships, player development and the future of Advance Baseball.
Lai
Director of Strategic Partnerships and Coach
Lai is one of the first players discovered here in Malaysia. A wood science expert, he developed the first Malaysian baseball bat and pioneered the formation of 18 Bat Co. Lai does it all for our team. His newly appointed role as Director of Strategic Partnerships is exciting, but he’s mostly excited about his new role of “Daddy.”
Aaron
Coach
Coach Aaron played professional baseball as a prospect for the Pirates. He’s still got a lot of juice in the tank, but he loves the game and developing players. His baseball acumen is 10/10. You can’t be around him without working hard and learning more.
Riley
Business Director of Malaysia
As Business Director of Malaysia, Riley leads a vital part of Advance Baseball’s work beyond the field. His role places the business side of the organization alongside its baseball ambitions in Malaysia. We are proud to recognize that contribution as part of the team behind the programs.
Scott
Director of Player Development and Head Coach
Coach Scott Reller brings serious baseball credentials to Advance Baseball. At Hutchinson Community College, he helped advance 52 players to Division I and eight to professional baseball. At the University of Central Missouri, he coached 11 pitchers who went on to play professionally and helped the program reach two college World Series. Across those programs, his coaching and recruiting work contributed to seven conference championships, with two Hutchinson alumni reaching Major League service time. A former prospect evaluator for Prep Baseball Report, Scott pairs an eye for talent with a deep understanding of pitching development. We’re proud to have that experience leading our players—and a coach whose philosophy puts their growth as people alongside their progress on the field.
Josh
Chief Development Officer (CDO)
Josh has a proven track record of bringing people together and building strong teams and communities. From mobilizing people and securing equipment to finding fields, venues and sponsors, he connects the people and resources that help Advance Baseball move forward. As Chief Development Officer, Josh is the glue of our team. He loves the game, but nothing means more to him than being on the field with his boys.
